PCH International is delighted to announce that Lively, a San Francisco-based startup, has joined PCH Access.
Lively offers an inventive activity-sharing experience that supports an independent lifestyle for older adults by creating new avenues of connection between their families.
PCH Access offers Lively the same supply chain management services that are used by the world’s top brands, and will help the company cater for huge consumer demand.
Lively’s activity-sharing products aim to help the millions of older adults living at home worldwide to retain their independence whilst giving their loved ones peace-of mind about their health and well-being.
The new hardware uses cellular technology to communicate with in-home passive sensors that learn an older adult’s normal daily routines, such as when medications are taken, time spent out of the house, and eating and drinking activity in the kitchen. It’s easy to set up, does not require an internet connection or phone line and can be monitored from mobile devices.
LivelyGram also allows younger generations and other family members a creative way to share the events of their lives. This personalized mailer contains pictures and short messages that they submit, which arrives in their older loved one’s mailbox about every two weeks.
Commenting on today’s announcement, Liam Casey, CEO PCH International said: “We are delighted to announce our partnership with Lively. These products have the potential to significantly improve people’s lives.
Lively’s innovative hardware solutions for older adults can help bring them closer to their families. With really innovative products, the sophisticated technology is invisible and users focus on the product’s benefits and appearance. That’s what happens here.”
Liam continued: “PCH can provide access to the same global product development and supply chain solutions that are used by the world’s top brands. In addition, PCH will work with Lively to achieve scale and bring their exciting products to market. PCH Access brings the most innovative hardware products to market quickly and we believe we are building the Fortune 500 brands of the future.”
“The vast majority of older adults who live on their own are in good overall health and critical day-to-day monitoring isn’t necessary. Yet so many products targeted at them today use fear as a selling tactic, addressing potential mishaps or focusing on emergency response.”David Glickman, Co-founder, Chief Operating Officer, Lively
“We’re intentionally focusing on how older adults and their families want to live in a way that fosters strong emotional well-being and peace-of-mind. We are delighted to work with PCH International to bring this product to market in as short a time frame as possible.” David added.
In addition to joining PCH Access, Lively has also unveiled its product line on Kickstarter, the funding platform for creative projects, in order to generate pre-order pledges before Lively’s general availability.
Lively will fulfill all U.S. pre-order pledges by July 2013 and all Europe, Canada and Australia pre-orders by December 2013; versions planned for other International markets will be announced by Q4 2013.
Lively will be introduced at US$149 plus a low US $19.95 monthly subscription, representing the only consumer-priced product of its kind. For a limited time, consumers will be able to get Lively plus one month’s subscription for free with a US$99 pre-order pledge on Kickstarter.
