PCH is seeking a Senior Engineering Program Manager (EPM) to oversee complex and multi-disciplinary hardware development programs.

This position involves managing cross-functional teams working to develop new consumer, beauty products and soft goods for our clients from concept through production. A Senior EPM ensures project success by scoping, planning, and coordinating project activities, managing the communication of schedules, budget, goals and deliverables to the project team, and maintaining a continuous dialogue with the client throughout the process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams in complex product development projects.
  • Enable project success by accurately scoping, planning and coordinating all project activities
  • Manage and communicate the schedule, budget, project goals and deliverables to your project team
  • Motivate and empower your team to meet stated goals and deliverables on schedule.
  • Make critical project adjustments as required, while assessing risks and controlling scope
  • Cultivate a relationship of trust with the client team via regular and transparent communication of project status, risks and issues
  • Deliver high quality results on schedule and within budget
  • Be the champion for both your client and your team, recognizing and rewarding success

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience as a hardware project or program manager
  • A demonstrated understanding of project management best practices, methodologies, standards and tools
  • A degree in an engineering field, or working knowledge of product development principles gained through work experience
  • A strong understanding of the product development process, from concept to NPI.
  • A track-record of proved leadership in managing cross functional teams in multiple project development disciplines and in understanding the proper way of interacting (mechanical, electrical & embedded firmware engineering, manufacturing, and industrial design preferred)
  • A track-record of shipping hardware products (or subsystems) as a lead/senior program manager
  • Experience successfully planning scope, schedule and budgets for large-scale projects and executing within those parameters.
  • Excellent communication competence with all level of leaders and clients.
  • Strong public speaking skills and a will of dare to challenge to colleague as well as clients.
  • Intimate understanding of how project delivery requirements, issues, needs, and risk impact the scope, budget and schedule on a day-to-day basis.
  • Experience in a consulting environment and/or working with overseas contract manufacturers (strongly preferred).

Provide robust part/assembly mechanical designs to achieve world-class product.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detail drawing and specification for products using 3D CAD packages. Product to be electronic devices, beauty, home appliance, accessories, soft goods (leather and fabric related), and/or combinations.
  • General robust part and assembly 3D model throughout the product development models and renderings, as well as production level surfaces and features for engineering and tooling.
  • Generate fully tolerance 2D drawings for tooling suppliers prior to mass production for products with demanding geometric and cosmetic requirements.
  • Collaborate with the internal product development team on material selection, part design and manufacturing feasibility, along with the cosmetic requirements of new parts and tool design.
  • Be responsible for complete BOM and CAD database for new projects, ensuring all engineering changes are updated and documented.
  • To manage and complete Mechanical Design to achieve the world-class product.
  • Work together with the product development team in the design & work with Process Engineer to prepare drawings for prototype and production jigs and fixtures.
  • Participate in the product development process by providing in the Design for Manufacturing (DFM) analysis on client specifications & influence client specifications through design recommendations.
  • Ability to review/response/approve DFM from tooling makers.
  • Help the operation team to fix/debug the product design issue to ensure the production smooth.
  • Generate production specification/validation documents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar.
  • 8+ years' experience as mechanical engineer, delivering robust and feasible models featuring challenging tolerance cosmetic requirement.
  • Experience in analyzing tolerance stack-up on complex assembly projects.
  • Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD packages such as SolidWorks is essential.
  • Certain understanding of raw material property.
  • Certain understanding of design flow and procedure.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes including injection molding, metals fabrication and secondary finishing process.
  • Experience in Jig and Fixture design for high volume consumer electronics
  • Ability to work in product development team of engineers as well as an ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and creative, analytical and detail orientated work ethic.
  • Fluent in both Mandarin and English.
