Kurt takes over from Brady Forrest, who co-founded Highway1 with PCH CEO Liam Casey, and who becomes a special advisor going forward.
Kurt brings to Highway1 more than 20 years of design, engineering and manufacturing experience, with a master’s degree in product design from Stanford University. Kurt co-founded PCH Lime Lab in 2010 with Andre Yousefi to bring high-quality, design-focused products to market, and to support innovative startups.
“On a daily basis, I see what it takes to create successful businesses and build and ship products,” said Kurt Dammermann, VP of Highway1. “For me, there are very few things as satisfying as bringing a well-designed, high-quality product to market. I am inspired by unique products that answer a need in the world and build a brand. I’m incredibly excited to work with passionate and determined startups, and to build on what Brady and team have created over the past three years.”
Brady Forrest will assume a special advisor role at Highway1, helping source, select and mentor startups. During his tenure at Highway1, Brady led seven classes, helping accelerate 74 companies, which have collectively raised in excess of $115 million in venture and crowd funding.
“These past three years have been enormously fulfilling, helping hundreds of entrepreneurs go from prototype to product and from teams to companies,” said Brady Forrest, co-founder of Highway1. “I’m looking forward to focusing on Ignite and other endeavors, while continuing to advise Highway1.”
“There are few people in the world with Kurt’s level of hands-on experience developing and shipping original and innovative products,” said PCH Founder and CEO Liam Casey. “Kurt has led many product teams and has worked with hundreds of engineers and designers. He has the passion to help companies not only deliver the best products to market, but to become strong and viable businesses that return value to investors.”
