Wednesday 24th October - PCH International is delighted to announce the opening of the company's new US headquarters, located in 135 Mississippi Street in San Francisco's Design District. PCH expects that the new 30,000 square foot facility will create at least 50 new jobs across a variety of roles, including product design, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, firmware design, operations and business development.
Commenting on today's announcement, PCH International CEO, Liam Casey said, "With 135 Mississippi Street, we are excited to establish our US headquarters as a world-class center for product design, development and engineering, anchored to an extensive supply chain network for production and fulfillment in Southern China. The services we will showcase in this new building will offer a completely transparent glimpse into the complex world of hardware development, a skillfully managed process that begins with an idea and ends with a beautiful new hardware product in a customer's hand."
Mr Casey continued, "San Francisco is already a world-class center for design excellence, and is an ideal location for us to serve our existing clients in Silicon Valley and to create and attract new entrepreneurial partnerships. We work with the world's best industrial designers, taking their concepts and turning them into beautiful products. We work with companies that are passionate about design, passionate about brand and passionate about the consumer experience. We look forward to fostering the growing community of makers in the Bay Area who seek to have a massive impact on the world through their dedication to design, brand building and consumer experiences."
The facility will house the PCH development and engineering team (Lime Lab), a 7,000 square foot state-of-the-art rapid prototyping facility, a Sustainable Packaging Center of Excellence, and collaborative workspaces to support partnerships with PCH Accelerator startups and Fortune 500 clients alike. The building will also feature a Network Operations Center ("Control Room"), a Product Display Area, an Educational Centre to teach supply chain expertise, and an events space for holding Hardware Hackathons and other hardware-related events.
The facility is expected to be renovated and ready for visitors in the first quarter of 2013.
