Highway1, the incubator program for hardware startups run by PCH International, announced today that its Spring 2014 program is now open for applications and that it will be expanding to accept up to 15 global companies. Brady Forrest, VP at Highway1, also announced he will be traveling to a number of cities across Asia, US and Europe to hold Hardware meetups, with the aim of promoting the Highway1 program and talking to entrepreneurs, innovators, investors and "makers" in of these locations.

Brady Forrest commented: "We're excited to be expanding and we hope to take this expansion internationally. PCH and Highway1 will help entrepreneurs to build a company, not just a product. We teach companies how to scale, and we make connections to valuable mentors who have years of experience and have been there before. What we're really looking for are next-generation hardware companies that view their product as "software in a box". Our targets are exciting and innovative companies at the prototype stage, with or without funding."

Highway1's curriculum is focused on manufacturing, supply chain, inventory and pitching. It will equip startups with the knowledge and know-how to de-risk and become a hardware company that investors want to invest in. Participants will learn how to turn their prototype into a product that is ready to manufacture and achieve scale.

Highway1's program includes:
- A four month educational curriculum taught in San Francisco's Mission District
- A two week module taught in Shenzhen, China with an exploration of the vast consumer electronics supply chain in the Pearl River Delta
- Up to US$20,000 in seed capital in return for equity
- Access to office and product prototyping facilities with millions of dollars of equipment
- One-on-one engineering, design and mentoring expertise
- Access to a mentor network, with experienced, high-profile technology leaders.

The application process is exclusively available on www.angellist.com/highway1. Brady Forrest said: "We are delighted to partner exclusively with Angel List for our application process because of their huge network of amazing startups."
