Direct Manager: EPM Matrix Manager: Director of Technology
- Manage the design, development and implementation of world-class manufacturing processes for new development projects with demanding geometric and cosmetic requirements - Identify and research world-class equipment manufacturers and suppliers for a wide range of manufacturing processes & collaborate with the product development team on equipment selection, tool design and manufacturing feasibility - Evaluate manufacturing requirements for new projects, influence supplier selection and qualify all primary and secondary/finishing process equipment - Take a leading role in the design, development and qualification of assembly tools, jigs and fixtures - Assist the product development team by defining best in class manufacturing processes for new projects & make recommendations based on known process capabilities - Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for process improvement through the use of industrial engineering tools and automation technology - Implement continuous process improvement measures from initial product design through to production ramp for new development projects - Collaborate with our supply chain partners on maintaining appropriate controls on the processing parameters and define suitable tooling/equipment preventative maintenance plans/schedules - Troubleshoot process problems & develop and introduce solutions for long-term prevention
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or similar - 6-10 years' experience in a Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering or Process Engineering role - Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, production equipment, tooling & manufacturing jigs and fixture design - Experience of factory automation a plus - Demonstrated experience of SPC, NPI, DOE and process optimization - Proven track record in process design and process implementation for products with challenging tolerance and cosmetic requirements - Demonstrated DFM experience and proven track record of innovative processing solutions for high volume consumer electronic or soft goods products - Proficient in 3D CAD packages such as Pro E or Solidworks - Demonstrated problem solving skills and a proven record of supplier management - Familiar with industry leading test and inspection equipment
People Skills PCH work environment is relationship based and staff members need to be able to work effectively within a number of differently structured teams. This position needs to be both a team and individual contributor.
Strong verbal & written English communication, negotiating skills are paramount, as is a driven and positive 'can do' attitude. Articulate and succinct communication is highly valued, as well as a strong customer service focus. Client relationship skills are required to be successful in this role.
Task Skills A solid skill base is needed to hit the ground running, and commercial acumen focusing on long-term outcomes and the financial implications of the actions expected.
Strategic thought processes are vital in processing and analyzing data in order to reach key points, and the ability to think in the 'bigger picture' is an advantage.
The ability to best solve a problem quickly and effectively using networks is also a must, along with the ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast paced environment.
Personal Qualities The typical PCH work style would be relationship oriented where support for others in achieving goals is a key consideration. Looking above the obvious to achieve broader based solutions using initiative is standard, and a flexible approach to problem solving utilizing various resources is required.
